Grey gloomy sky.

Polluted air.

Traffic noises.

Concrete jungle.

Crowds.

These are the typical snapshots of Hong Kong.

But then, guess what I found?

Two quiet, seemingly unpolluted, Japanese style gardens, side by side each other just next to the Hollywood-themed shopping complex at Diamond Hill.

Mesmerized by the hues, calmness......

Sipping tea behind the water screen, heavenly!

Home Decor Survivor

I quite enjoyed the Singapore Epi aired over Astro AEC recently. It was host by the handsome Bryan Wong. You can catch it on:

In each episode, the two contesting teams were given a specific design theme/style and be assigned a flat/house. The participants would have to use their talents/inspiration, explore all possibilities coupled with the deployment of requisite materials/furniture to transform the existing downright ordinary flat into an eye-catching style, and all these within the specified time limit.

Bryan was seen using his talent throughout the series, be it floral arrangement to mural painting. If you are bored starring at the same old wallpaper, get some benefiting ideas from the series. (Pics taken from Bryan's blog)

The Seventh Day

Repeat*

花一生的福氣為重遇你

To Grow(?) With Love

Just cannot imagine Myolie Wu did gain weight from 110lbs to 150lbs to take on her chubby role in the series "To Grow With Love" and successfully shredded it all so easily. I recall I once ballooned to 140lbs and it took me ages, I really mean "ages", to get back to norm.

Saw her in 1U the other day, standing tall, slim and radiating!

Yummy Dessert

The drama series "Wasabi Mon Amour" ended with Louisa So preparing a dessert. It reminded me of those wonderful dessert outlets in Hong Kong.

Mangoes are widely used in desserts in Hong Kong and 许留山 specializes in just that. Their mango puddings come in many variations, be it with glutinuous rice balls, sago balls, jelly strips, fresh fruits, ice-cream, sorbets, puree etc.

The sorbet is smooth, the mangoes are chunky and aromatic, it is absolutely sensational! Must try but one piece of advice: those outlets along Nathan Road, Causeway Bay are bound to be jam-packed. I found one quiet outlet in the China Ferry Terminal.
